Shopping and Mu Mu’s 🐮

What a day I’ve had! A really really good one! Firstly I had a lie in! Myself and Man child tend to take it in turns to have a little extra sleep when he’s on lates and today was my turn! By the time I got up he had already been to the shops with Hazel and I hadn’t even realised her had gone! I readied myself for a full on day of shopping and eating… what other way would you spend a day off! 

I was waiting for Small Human to wake up for ages so we could go out! This seems like a regular occurance. She likes to sleep at the most inconvenient times. 

Finally around half 1 she arose from her slumber and we headed straight out to collect my younger sister for some shopping for her birthday. First stop costa mmmmm! 

Small human spent most of the time playing peekaboo and reaching for marshmallows. Healthy! We headed into boots to begin with where I purchased a plethora of make up…this is my biggest downfall to shopping! I just can’t help myself. 

I fell in love with Max factors new packaging range only to find out when I got home that it’s only the plastic bit you remove that had the new print on and not the actual bottles! How unfair! 

We popped into a few other shops to get some bits and before we knew it we had already been there 3 hours. We headed to the car with our ticket in hand to find out the parking cost £2.40 and between us we only had £2.35. I had to bother some lady for 5p only to discover the machine didn’t take them. Jess ran down to Sainsbury’s to change them into a 20p although she said the woman wasn’t particularly happy about having to swap money for her. I mean it’s 20p for gods sake! Good job we left when we did because I had a message from Twin saying she was on her way! 

Finally we sat down for a cuppa before Kathryn arrived and watched small human run around like a plonker with no trousers on! Once she went to bed all 3 of us sat in a row doing our make up and giving each other application tips. 

Man child got home early from work so we could venture out to Mu Mu’s for dinner! 

We had great food and great conversation but now I feel like a beached whale and I think I need a lie down to rest this food off my gut! Didn’t help that I had a massive milkshake before I even started eating. I only managed to devour roughly a quarter of that pizza. 

All in all I’ve had a brilliant day and it’s back to work nice and early in the morning!

Nails and a crazy baby!

Good evening chums! 

Great night sleep last night and hopeful for another one this evening! 

I had work nice and early this morning and I was fully booked all day. As per usual! It went so fast 6 hours was done and dusted in what felt like 2! 

I did some gorgeous coloured nails today and this pastel yellow is a beaut! Especially as it was done on one of my favourite ladies 😘 

I needed to take a trip to Argos to pick something up however my Manchild had already gone and got it for me! I can’t reveal what it is due to it being a gift for a certain younger sibling of mine whose birthday is next week! So I headed straight home from work forgetting to get petrol on the way which means I will need to stop off with Hazel on our adventures out tomorrow. 

I nearly died laughing at the dinner table this evening. Small human had a red pepper on her plate which I can only assume she believed was tomato ketchup as she kept attempting to ‘dip’ her food into it the whole time. Honestly little people can be so dumb and highly entertaining at the same time. 

She had a hyperactive hour after dinner running around like an absoloute loon. 

All is done with the evening routine and myself and Manchild settled down to watch unbreakable so I can finally watch the sequel split! Although I’m going to have to wait for him to watch it with now and seeing as we work opposite shifts it’s hard for us to get a movie night in these days!

Oh poo. 💩

I’ve got a long post coming up from you guys this evening so enjoy! 

Small human slept through the night. Praise the lord hallelujah!! 🙏 which means I FINALLY got a full nights sleep and damn I felt good for it! I did not want to leave my slumber this morning when she woke up. I wanted to stay in my little nest for hours! I began walking towards small humans room (usually the way I get there. Other methods include crawling and rollie pollies but I wasn’t feeling that energetic) when a very strong and unpleasant smell came over me. I walked in praying and hoping that she hadn’t crapped everywhere. Then shock horror. I saw it. Shit. Everywhere. This is not the first time it’s happened and I’m certain it won’t be the last. Thankfully this time she hadn’t played with it and smeared poo hand prints all over her cot. The joys of being a parent. All cleaned up, stinky poo in the bin and dirty bedding in the wash. That certainly woke me up quickly. The stench of child droppings literally burning holes in your retinas is definitely one way to way to kick start you into a motivational morning. 

The house cleaning commenced whilst small human ate her breakfast and watched…paw patrol. Bet you didn’t see that one coming. Oh no wait. You did! I felt like bloody Kim woodburn scrubbing and tidying my home for 2 hours straight! I even had the bun to match but I won’t shock you with photographic evidence! 

I popped Small Human into bed and got myself ready for work. I don’t usual work Fridays but I have been going in a lot more recently for admin work. I however didn’t do ANY admin today. Instead I gave the salon a good old face lift. Building IKEA furniture is my specialty. Not that it’s particularly difficult but I do find a sense of accomplishment after screw bits of wood together. 3 shelving units I put up and arranged. 

Our manicure area is looking much tidier and more organised now and I have a VERY exciting training course next Saturday to put this area to good use! It’s all coming together very nicely! I feel like I’ve had a very productive afternoon and evening! 

I headed back home around 8. Grabbed some dinner and I’m now sat writing my blog with a cuppa in hand and watching Manchild play The Binding of Issac. My personal favourite and most addictive game of all time! 

I’m off to work again early in the morning!

Work and Southern fried CHICKEN 🍗

Hi the names KEN. CHIC-KEN… umm what? 

So I’m in one of those moods where you’re super tired but super hyperactive. I’m not sure why my body does this but when I’m sleepy I end up with verbal diarrhoea and energy that I can’t get rid of. It’s like having a sugar high without the sugar! Maybe I’m just a freak. 

Anywho, this morning consisted of getting ready for a busy day at work and making small human a ‘bed den’. 

I love that she has an attachment to a toy but why did she have to pick one with creepy beady eyes. Every time I see Gwenguin I feel as though she is staring deep down into my soul and saying ‘one day, I will take over the world’. It’s not nice seeing this creepy little fucker staring up at you in the middle of the night when you go to check that your small human is breathing. Perhaps one day she’ll loose her attachment to this toy and find another one.

9am came found fast and off to work I went. I was there nice and early but as I opened the door to my kingdom I noticed something horribly HORRIBLY wrong. My sandwich. Was missing. It was hand prepared by man child and I’m sure it had some blood, sweat and tears in it (my kind of sandwich). I was devastated to find my cheese sandwich wasn’t in my bag. ‘Ah well’ I thought ‘I’ll just get something from the shop on my lunch break’. Lunch break? What even is that! I had 15 minutes spare between clients today so I shoved a couple of sweet chilli thins down my gullet in the hopes I would make it to the end of the day without passing out! I performed back to back Manicures and pedicures today and my lower back is suffering! Im sure there’s a way you can do these treatments without crippling yourself but I haven’t quite figured that out yet! 

At 4pm work was done and it was time to head on home. Thank god because I needed to get that cheese sandwich in me as fast as possible! As I opened the fridge door a beam of light shone into my eyes and I heard a small noise coming from something in the distance. I could just make out what it was saying ‘I’m here Holly, you’ve waited for me all day and now the time has come for us to be reunited’. I gobbled that cheese sandwich down as fast as I could, filling the empty void inside of me. Then I just got indigestion. 

Small human was fast asleep so myself and Man child played a few games of The Binding of Issac. I shan’t explain what this game is about. As I know little people and slightly sensitive people use this site and I wouldn’t want to cause any mayhem or sleepless nights. 

Small human arose from her slumber and came downstairs to play. Mostly throwing a balloon around the living room (that she had acquired from a restaurant this afternoon) and demanding we watch a millionth episode of god damn paw patrol! Nothing else will do. Just a quick side note on paw patrol. I totally get the programme. Dogs helping people but WHY is their a dog whose speciality is recycling? I mean come on. I value the importance of teaching our children to look after the planet but this is just unreasonable! He’s definitely the least favourite character in our household and the only one whose name I don’t know. Probably because I don’t care! 😂 maybe my super power would be doing the dishes. 

I stuck some dinner in the oven because who has time to be a chef as well as a mother. Not me! Southern fried chicken and sweet potato fries. The kind you get in a bag. Not the home made type. Although I do know how to make them! Small human didn’t eat any of her dinner so she’s gone to bed hungry! Which means I’ll be getting up twice in the night to make her a bottle. Will it ever end? She’s fast asleep now and it’s time for myself and Man child to relax…again. 

Also my nails are hideous. I fooled myself into believing I would have time to fix them yesterday but who was I kidding?

Lunch,DIY and Nerves! 🍴

Tomorrow. I am NOT looking forward to it. I have my eye appointment at 9:30 to see if I have melanoma in my eye or a freckle. I don’t know whether I want to cry or do a nervous poo. All I do know is that tomorrow I will have an answer and all the waiting and uncertainy will finally be over! 
So today began to a lovely start with small human she inialated my make up bag whilst I was trying to get ready. And in light of tomorrow’s anticipation and to perhaps reflect my feelings I went for a dark makeup look. 

I love this lip colour by Elizabeth Arden! It’s definitely my favourite at this moment in time! It’s so nice in fact my hair was even trying to get a peice! 

My day was brightened up but the gorgeous sunshine and warmer feel in the air! Myself and small human took a trip to see my dad where we had lots of laughs and some damn good pie cooked by my step mum Ali! Honestly it was so delicious I could have eaten the whole thing to myself! 

Ice cream,doughnuts and tea to follow! Hazel started getting ratty so it was time to head home for a nap! (For her. Not me. Although I do sometimes feel the need to take a mid aftenoon nap) 

Man child was already home by the time I got back and we were waiting for Hazel to arise so we could go for a walk but it ended up getting to late and we didn’t have a chance to go! We took the opportunity to put the shelves up on the other side of the fire place instead! These went up much smoother and we didn’t have any disasters like yesterday! 

I’m still suprised after all the DIY I’ve been doing as of late my nail extensions are still perfectly in tact! Not a single chip! Anyway all put up and ready for the finishing touches! 

I’m feeling pretty proud of myself and it’s really coming together nicely! 

Now we are patiently awaiting the next episode of walking dead before bed! I doubt I will get much sleep tonight but I am hopeful for tomorrow having a positive outcome!

An afternoon by the lake! 🦆

Hello there! 🤚 

My head hurt slightly more this morning that I was anticipating due to last nights drinks! I only had a couple but I definitely felt it this morning. Ah well ‘Up and At em’ I always say. Well actually that’s not what I always say. Infact it’s something I NEVER say. I’m more like ‘Noooo please just 5 more minutes’. My sleep is so precious to me and I don’t like it being taken away! 💤 

Anywhoooo…pottered around this morning and slapped on more of a natural look with the ol’ make up this morning. 

Didn’t have much time or energy with a hangover to do anything more that a bit of 

• Foundation (Jane Iredale BB3) 
• Translucent powder (No.7) 
• Highlighted (Benefit) 
• Blush (No.7) 
• Brows (Tropic) 
• Mascara (Elizabeth Arden) 
• Lippy (Elizabeth Arden) 

After all we were only off for a walk round the lake and who needs a full face of makeup for that? 💄
So after the process of getting myself and small human ready it was time to head off for an afternoon walk with Stefans dad and Niece! When we got there Elsiemae (small humans cousin) was fast asleep in her pushchair! So for the first half of the walk she dozed and I couldn’t help but wish I was the one fast asleep being pushed around in the fresh air! 💨 

As you can see in the background small human and Man child were enjoying the playground equiptment. I’m around 99% sure this was more fun for him than it was for her! 

So half way round and Little Elsie woke up! So they both had a bit of lunch and fed the ducks! I don’t know why but for some reason when you’re feeding the ducks you can’t help but just be selfish and steal a bit of bread for yourself. Perhaps it’s just me…greedy 🐷 

After the ducks were fed we carried on walking! This time with both small humans running around after each other and laughing their heads off! Elsie is so cute she helps Hazel walk and shows her where things in the park are. It’s so nice to get them together for a play date! I nearly died laughing as we walked past a Pug and Elsiemae pointed it is saying ‘Oink oink’ she thought it was a pig! 😂 

I had some great conversation with Stefans dad and struggled to push the pushchair as Hazel also wanted to push it at the same time! She hasn’t quite got her steering skills down! 

The walk was great and the sun was shining! It was just generally a really great couple of hours out. Until we all realised both babies had filled their nappies and none of us had remembered to bring any spare ones with us! ☀️ 

Back home, poopy small human changed and put down for a nap…and relax! Or recover. Which ever way it may be perceived! 

I had about an hour lie down on the sofa before Hazel woke up and the crazy play time resumed! I thought she would have slept longer seeing as she walked around the whole lake and refused to go in her pushchair for more than 5 minutes! We got her pop up tent out which she loves and I went off to have a bath whilst man child continued the entertainment! 🛀 

After I almost melted in there man child gave small human a bath whilst I cooked dinner. Chilli con Carni with Jacket potatoes 🥔 

We’re now playing resident evil and here’s to an early night 🛌

Physio session #3 and family time!

I’m a little tipsy. Which is surprising as I’ve only drank 2 small Amerettos! But hey ho! 

Today Hazel slept for another 3 hours! It literally makes my days off to boring! Talking about days off I was meant to be having an eye appointment tomorrow to check out this random mark on the back of my eye but it was cancelled and moved to Tuesday so now I have a whole weekend off and nothing to do! I’m frustrated with this mark and I just want to find out what it is! It’s invading my body and I want it gone. Here’s hoping it’s just a freckle because the other side to it will be much much worse. But that is something I have to wait and SEE on Tuesday…mind the pun. 

So I had physio this morning which was a great relief and resolved my headache immediately! I seriously hope it continues. 

I’ve been to my mums this afternoon and evening and Hazel was so cute and affectionate giving my mum cuddles and blowing kisses! We even Skyped my nan which was hilarious because it took us about 20 minutes of us to explain to her how to use it and most of the time all we could see was the top of her head! 

We’re home now and little ones in bed! Me and Man child are having a couple of drinks and going through our Facebook friends with a small description of who they are! Don’t worry we aren’t being cruel but it has been pretty funny!

Headaches, beauty treatments and makeup!

I have a headache. Booooo. That’s 2 days now of pain in my head and face! I almost forgot what it felt like to have this pain! Thank god I have physio tomorrow because I seriously need it! I don’t know how I can be so excited to have someone manipulate my body in ways that feel totally unnatural but I am! I’m the same when I have sports massage. I’m like HURT ME DAMMIT because I know it will help! 

This morning was fairly chilled out playing with my demanding child! She spends a lot of time napping at the moment so it means I have lots of spare time! So on with the make up as per usual. 

This is what my floor always looks like after I’ve done my hair and make up and I’m sure it drives man child nuts! But at least I always tidy it all away! 

Went off to work nice and early for a business meeting and lots of exciting things are in progress! The salon is in the process of a face lift and it’s been great redesigning certain areas! 

I’ve done so many treatments today (as always) but by far my favourite were these gorgeous eyelash extensions! 

I love the attention to detail and concentration it takes to complete these! It’s such a relaxing and satisfying treatment! 

I drove to my brother and sister inlaws to pick up my little one and she went straight to sleep as she got in the car! I’m home now and have been abandoned by manchild to play games so I’m sat here watching Americas next top model with a couple (or half a pack) of digestive biscuits and a cuppa!

Walking in the Rain and works new treatment!

Hazel napped for 3 hours this afternoon! And I was so bored. All the housework had been done and there was sweet bugger all on tv to watch! I was hoping to get down to swimming at Towcester today but by the time she woke up we had missed it! So instead we took a walk to the shop and park! 

Every time I take her to the park there’s nobody ever in it! So it feels like we are VIPs in a small children’s area. It’s the small victories in life that count! 

Welly boots on and in great preparation as it began to rain! Luckily we had our rain coats on and I must have looked like a man woman running down the road to escape the weather! 

One thing that did make me laugh was Hazel trying to feed stones to the plants. Holding her arm out and saying ‘yum yum’ totally unaware that a daffodil cannot eat a rock. 

I posted a couple of days ago about a new treatment entering the salon and it is finally here!

Brand new sparkling ‘Mii cosmetics’. I am SO excited to start using this product on my clients. I spend lots of time playing with my own make up it will be great to put my skills to the test on others! 

I cooked a very basic sausage and veg meal this evening. Healthy and quick! Which is just what I like when it comes to food. Okay maybe not the healthy bit so much but I’m trying! 

Slathered in Gravy of course! 

Man child’s just arrived home from work and Baby is fast asleep in bed so now it’s time to watch Nurse Jackie! We’ve only just started watching it and so far so good! That’s all I have today!

Look of the day

Today I’ve spent most of my morning doing my hair and make up ready for work whilst Hazel was having a nap! Because what could be more productive than that? I’m sure there’s 100s of other things I could be focusing my time on but nothing near as fun! 

I’ve gone for a fairly strong look with full face coverage, dark lips and bold eye liner. Although this is my usual day to day make up because I am a creature of habit! If I was a hermit crab I would not change my shell. I would stay in the same damn shell my whole life even if I got to big for it! 

I popped to my brother and sister in laws early today to drop Hazel off so I could go to work and stayed for a lovely cuppa and a catch up! 

These 2 are so funny together. They spent the whole time stealing each others lunch! They may as well share a plate! It’s been wonderful watching them grow together over the past year and a half! 

Back home and dinner cooked! Sweet and sour Quorn chicken was on the menu today and it was delicious! Me and man child are trying to decide on what to do this evening but it will more than likely end in watching a movie!
