The big bad bruise!

I can’t believe how nice the weathers been the past couple of days! It’s like the temperature has rose by 20 degrees in only 2 weeks. I’m not complaining of course.

This morning I woke up to see my wonderful bruise had managed to make its way out and it’s a beauty!

What a beast. I still can’t sit down without wincing in pain but it’s actually feeling a lot better today in comparison to yesterday! Although as the day has gone on the bruising has gotten worse and worse!

This morning my very best friend popped in for a cuppa and a catch up. Small Human was having a nap which meant we could chat without being interrupted! Makes a change.

I headed over to my mums this afternoon and although I managed to drive there I’ve been left feeling a lot more sore. I’m noticing areas of aches that I didn’t notice yesterday and I honestly feel as though I’ve been hit by a bus.

We had some dinner and gave Small Human an outside bath.

After she ran around the garden butt naked like a loon it was best we got her inside, dressed and in the car to get home! Now she’s all tucked up in bed and finally asleep I’m catching an early night myself!

Sunday, Monday, happy days.

Keeping up with daily blogs is difficult when you have a super busy life like mine! So again I have 2 posts in one.

Sunday

The one day a week myself and Man Child have together both off work. I let Man Child have a lie in whilst I attended to Small Human. Thankfully she didn’t wake up until gone past 9 so it felt like a lie in for all of us!

The usual morning routine began and we played played and played until Small Human could stand no longer. Off for a nap she went and myself and Man Child decided to keep up with our usual ‘bacon sunday’ tradition. Pretty self explanatory. However. To my disgust I opened the pack of bacon and it was out of date. The horror! We settled for cheese sandwiches instead but it just isn’t the same.

Once Small Human had her snooze we headed down the canal for a bike ride. Man Child didn’t have his bike so he was on baby duty as I whizzed up and down the canal like a crazy person. Just as we reached the tunnel a fellow rider popped out of it. Saw us. Went to cycle onto the grass to let us through and face planted onto the floor. He shook it off with an awkward giggle and I said “God I hope there weren’t any stinging nettles down their on the floor” to which he replied “Nope just my dignity” poor sod. After that hilarious encounter we carried on down the canal and headed to the park.

Finally Small Human was worn out again and we headed home. It was so hot I stripped her down to just her t-shirt and nappy to cool off. That was until she demanded to wear her Dr. martins and sparkly bag and strut around the living room.

She’s such a free spirit. Although I’m not sure Man Child would allow her to go out looking like this when she’s 18!

We had a fairly relaxed evening and it was the perfect way to spend a Sunday!

Monday

Physio day!

Myself and my sister in law were going to take the tiny humans to Mk safari but we thought the weather was far to nice to waste inside a kids play area so we planned for a nice walk instead.

I dropped Small Human off and headed to physio. Feeling much MUCH better now and th eacupuncture  seems to be working a treat. That and its so relaxing. Afterwards I travelled back to my Sister in laws and she’d made us all lunch! She’s a true gem that one!

Both Small Human and Cousin B were getting fairly ratty so it was a quick nappy change and off out we went! First stop was the park. It’s unlike any park I’d ever been in as a kid and even has a massive sandpit!

The Tiny Humans thoroughly enjoyed themselves and both ended up smothered in sand. That’s what happens when you apply suncream to them and then let them play in it! Needless to say there was sand everywhere when Small Human had a bath this evening!

We walked over to the lake and fed the ducks along with an ice lolly of course. That was for us. Not the ducks incase you couldn’t work that one out for yourself!

There were some pretty big geese today and I feel as though they’re slowly taking over Milton Keynes. Nasty buggers. Thankfully none of them tried to chase us or our children!

On the walk back cousin B fell asleep in his push chair so we took a quick detour to the pub for a drink in the gardens. I’m certainly not complaining. Cousin B snoozing away, Small Human running around and a nice icy drink for us mums!

By this point it was already half 3 and time to get home! I got stuck in traffic on the M1 due to an accident on the other side of the road. If people didn’t slow down to look at the accident then there would be no traffic! 😡

Back home and Small Human was put to bed but she only slept for around 20 minutes as she had already passed out in the car. Afterwards we soaked up what was left of the sun by playing in the garden!
That poor baby! I mean just look at how it’s positioned. Imagine I shoved Hazel in a pram like that. She has no concept of comfort what so ever. I know this first hand as she always points to my eyes shouts “Wow” and then proceeds to stab her pointy fingers straight into my eye socket.

Man Child spent a while throwing her up in the air and she loves it!

Such cuties!

We relaxed again this evening after scrubbing the sand off of Hazels body!

That’s all today 😘

Don’t cry over spilt milk. Cry over something else.

This morning I got up and headed straight out to physio. I’ve been feeling much better the past week and my appointment today did not dissapoint! I love acupuncture but I can’t stand having it in my hands. It’s such a horrible feeling. But it working and that’s what counts. I popped to muffins to grab Myself and Man Child a baguette and headed on home. When I arrived Small Human was in the best mood. Just being super adorable. Some days I could just eat her face…but that would be cannibalism.

All was going well until I decided to put her down for a nap and dropped a whole bottle of milk on the floor.

Nap time was rescheduled until after I had cleaned up the mess and washed out soggy feet. She thought it was hilarious. I managed to avoid any spilling on her but then she shouted ‘puddle’ and proceeded to stomp her feet in it. Thanks for that one Peppa pig.

Crisis averted and off to bed she went. For 3 hours. 3 long boring hours. I thought the sleep would mean she would be in a good mood when she arose. My god was I wrong. She non stop threw herself in a fit of rage onto the floor for the remainder of the afternoon. Or what was left of it. I thought a nice walk would cheer her up. I was wrong again.

Although she seemed to enjoy sitting on a small log it took us half an hour just to walk a small stretch of the canal before it began to piss it down. In a rush to get us back and dried I closed the buggy by the back door and crushed my finger in it!

Instant bruising. I’m pretty sure I am the clumsiest person I know. This was so painful it did make me cry!

It was time for the bedtime routine and Small Human very cleverly ate her dinner with a spoon all by herself!  I wish someone would congratulate me the way I do to her for managing to get a spoon from the bowl to her mouth. That would be the dream!

She’s growing up too fast! I love seeing her change and progress from a baby into a little person but I do wish that time would just slow down.

We had a bit more of a success in the bath this evening and only a few tears when doing the hair wash.

It took 2 hours to get her to actually go to sleep and she dropped off just as Man Child arrived home from work. Typical!

We’ve just finished watching the Santa Clarita diet and for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet and fancies an easy to watch, short yet hilarious programme then give it a try!

I’m off to bed 😘

Two days off!

Yesterday I had a day off work as Man Child was heading to Nottingham for a stag do and I had nobody to watch over my Small Human! However after Friday’s crazy day at work I was grateful for the rest. Rest?… sorry I just snorted as I wrote that because I don’t think rest is in a parents vocabulary.

I got up with Small Human and sorted out her ridiculous abundance of toys. They were taking over my home. I didn’t actually dispose of any I just rearranged them so they were in better order. I can finally walk around my home without fear of standing on a small plastic toy or being impaled by little wooden objects. I feel toys should come with a warning on them for parents. Like how they say “choking hazard, not suitiable for Small Humans” what they should say is “If you stand on one of these in the dead of night. You will cry. Like a little bitch”…just a thought.

Man Child left for his night on the town and I spent the majority of the day getting things sorted. I’ve finally managed to catch up on all our holiday washing and before I knew it  the day had gone and it was already half 3. I packed myself and Small Human into the car and sped off to collect my younger sister for a girls night in! Once again my twin couldn’t make it as she was out at the theatre watching a show! Jealous!

The sun was shining but as it was getting late we took Small Human into the garden to run around before dinner and hopefully wear her out for bed. It worked. A mums secret guide to getting your child sleep better. Lots and lots of fresh air and craziness. Just run them ragged until they can’t physically stand anymore!

We had a brilliant night and it was of course complimented by a children’s dinner.

After dinner we played with Small Human who was running around laughing her head off. That was until she tripped over her own feet and face planted into a toy on the floor. It went straight into her eyeball! Lots of tears later and many cuddles she was ready to go to bed! I again reiterate my previous ‘warnings’ statement. This time it should read “may cause sudden blindness should your Small Human temporarily forget how to walk and fall onto this toy that was created by the devil”.

We caught up on Britains got talent, decided we wouldn’t bother watching Eurovision to save our ears the agony and spent hours watching stupid videos on YouTube. I did have an embarrassing moment when Jess turned over to Eurovision and said “Cyprus are smashing it”. To which I replied “I don’t even know who Cyprus is. Is that his name because that’s where he’s from?”. I didn’t realise it was actually the country and not a random music act named Cyprus. Pretty embarassing when you consider my stepdad is from there…face palm.

At midnight we heard my front gate rattle and when I opened the door there was a dog standing there. (Of course it was standing. I mean it wasnt fucking flying now was it! Captain obvious over here.) It had a collar on but as I went out to see if it had a tag it ran away. We strategically placed some ham on the gate so we could listen out if it came back but it never did. I hope it has been reunited with its owners!

We decided around half 1 in the morning it was probably time to get to bed. Although I struggled to fall asleep so I woke up this morning feeling pretty exhausted. Which wasn’t helped by Small Human wanting a bottle at 7am. Thankfully she went back to sleep and didn’t wake up until. What a miracle!

My twin popped in for a cuppa and some lunch this afternoon and we put the world to rights as we usually do. It’s perfect getting together and letting off some steam.

It’s my Mothers very special 50th Birthday in 2 weeks time so we’ve been discussing gift ideas! After my twin left, Man Child arrived home feeling a bit sorry for himself. I sent him off for a nap to recover and we went outside to play in the garden.

Small Human found a snail which led onto conversations about “are they born with their shells?” “Are snails just slugs in disguise?” And “Do slugs bite?”. The answers were Yes, no, yes. Perhaps stupid questions to ask but today I learnt that slugs do infact have teeth and yes they can bite. But they’re so microscopic you wouldn’t even notice. Fascinating. Maybe you don’t care. But do you know what? Now you know a totally interesting yet pointless fact too. You’re welcome.

I took my younger sister home and Man Child and I have been relaxing on the sofa! A weekend well spent.

I’ve got physio in the morning and I’ve felt so much better this week along with the dairy free diet so I’m hopeful for another good week and to get on top of these headaches!

Crazy baby, Chrome nails and work!

Today was a day for cleaning!

Small Human actually slept in until 8 today which makes a big change from the usual 6:15 wake up call. I woke up feeling refreshed and feeling the benefits to physio yesterday. Something I haven’t felt in a good few weeks. What a good opportunity to get the house in order.

Man Child got home from work and we had a passing hello and goodbye as I left for the daily grind.

The salon was so peaceful when I arrived which obviously meant it was lunch time! The calm before the storm!

Clients and treatments ensued and I am OBSESSED with Magpie Beauty’s crome powders!

They’re definitely going to be a big hit this summer that’s for sure. This one is the shade ‘Iris’ and on the top of my list of favourites.

After work I took the drive home and popped to the shops to get some soya milk. I’m trying a dairy free diet to try and help with the migraines and so far I haven’t found it difficult at all! I may feel some benefits from this and I may not. Only time will tell!

Small Human was in a crazy mood this evening after her bath. She had a burst of energy running around butt naked and screaming the place down. There’s nothing more satisfying than having a happy child.

As you can see she’s worn herself out and taken a rather uncomfortable sleeping position. Man Child managed to move her back onto her pillow without waking her up! Score!

It’s time for crappy TV and a relax. I’ve got some pampering booked in at work tomorrow with my girls and I cannot wait!

Oops…I had an accidental nap 😴

This morning myself and Small Human headed out the door nice and early to meet my sister in law and nephew for a play day at Safari MK. That’s 2 days in a row I’ve been. I should really consider getting the monthly pass. The only down side to that is you have to pay for a whole year and I’m unsure if I will use it twice a month to make it worth it’s while. It was pretty quiet in there today compared to yesterday which was much nicer as it meant us mums could sit down and have a cuppa whilst the kiddies played. Well half a cup really before we ended up running around after them and going in and out of the ball pit a thousand times!

2 hours passed in the blink of an eye and both Small Humans began to get a bit tearful so we headed off for home. I put Small Human for a nap just before Man Child came home and I fell asleep on the sofa for 2 hours myself! I was suffering with a bad headache again today but the nap seemed to have cleared it up. It was 4pm by the time I arose from my unscheduled snooze so I did some cleaning and whipped up some dinner for us all. Chicken chow mein followed by a yogurt for Hazel. She wanted to eat it herself and wouldn’t allow either of us to help. This was the result…

Although she had a spoon in one hand she found it much more fun just to use her hand to scoop it into her mouth. Man Child took her for a bath which she hated! She screamed the house down and clung to me terrified for a good 10 minutes after. I’m not sure where this fear has come from but she goes in waves of loving the bath to absolutely hating it!

Anyway she’s fast asleep in bed now with fresh sheets, cuddling her Gwenguin and snoring away!

Not sure how she’s so comfortable with both her arms hanging out the side of the cot.

Myself and Man Child have just watched a couple of episodes of ’13 reasons why’ and we still have 6 more until the end! I want to know what happens right now! He’s off for an early night and I’m about to watch some shit TV. What a shock!

Work time and 2 funny toddlers! 👶🏼👶🏼

Yesterday I completely forgot to say my mum got me a scratch card and a bottle of bubble bath for Easter. I won 20 quid! My poor sisters didn’t win anything! Gutted!
I literally LOVE Treaclemoon bath products. They smell so good. This is the first time I’ve had the marshmallow one and it smells like a little drop of heaven! These go a long way and you only need a tiny drop for mountains of bubbles!
Seeing as I had a lie in yesterday I treated Man Child to one this morning. I managed to bathe, get dressed, dress Small Human. Clean the house and have breakfast all before he woke up! I am superwoman! Okay, okay so there wasn’t that much to do but seeing as I was up nice and early it was a productive way to start the day.

Small Humans outfit was an Easter gift from my Nan and it is beautiful! A beautiful dress to suit a beautiful girl.
I attempted to put her for a nap before we all left for work as she was going over to spend some time with her uncle and cousin this afternoon. But I failed. She did not want to sleep. She just wanted to throw poor Gwenguin out of her cot and scream at the top of her lungs until we gave in and got her up.
I went to work nice and early and left Man Child to deal with our stroppy daughter and post her off to her cousins. It gave me time to get stuff sorted after a long weekend off and prepare for a busy afternoon of clients. I ordered a ‘Nail Trainer’ for the salon so we can practice our gel extensions and nail art. I’m not sure we will have much time to use it as we are all very busy at the moment but it’s great to use when you have half an hour spare.

It’s pretty damn creepy. It looks like something out of a sci-if horror movie!

My brother in law to be sent me updated photos of Small Human and her cousin B playing together and taking a car ride to Woburn deer deer park. Although they were apparently both fast asleep by the time they got there! I headed off from work to collect her and as soon as I walked in the door she threw herself on the floor in a rage. B copied her and fake cried also flinging himself onto the floor. Small human thought this was hilarious and climbed on his back and he proceeded to crawl around like he was a horse and she was a cowgirl. They were both giggling their heads off. That was until they both led on the floor and banged their heads together resulting in many tears. I thought it was best we headed on home.
Shes all snuggled up and fast asleep which meant myself and Man Child could catch up on this weeks ‘Better call Saul’. I have had high hopes for this series due to it being a spin off of ‘Breaking bad’ but the first 2 seasons we a struggle to get through. That can’t be said for season 3 as it’s really picked up and I feel like I’m hanging on the edge of my seat just waiting for the next thing to happen! We’ve seen the arrival of a previous character and things are definitely getting more interesting!
Man Child has headed upstairs to play on his NerdStation and I’m having some me time with some shitty tv and an Easter egg!
Catch you tomorrow
-Holly 😘
